What the agent said is true. For example our family has an estate-owned home that is not currently listed. However, it is still very much for sale. We just took it off temporarily while some legal issues are being settled among the sibling co-owners of the property.

P.S. If you are seriously interested in the property, i would not hestitate to try contacting the owners to get the skinny on he property. We have interested parties who have given us their business cards, which we have forwarded to the listing broker.
This way he can contact them for updates on the status of our property.
