I am trying to purchase a condo < 80,000 that will accept bigger dogs 50-55 pounds.

Spoiler
I am also trying to purchase a condo for < 80,000 that accepts larger dogs, 50-55 pounds, and am finding a roadblock at every turn. I have been looking from Framingham, Ma to Chelmsford MA and I cannot believe the cute apartments that are out there that do not accept larger dogs. Any ideas or help out there?

Welcome to the ZipRealty community!  Thank you for posting in the forums.

I will contact one of the local agents to see if they are able to answer this question for you.

Re: I am trying to purchase a condo < 80,000 that will accept bigger dogs 50-55 pounds.

Hi there,

I have a client that I am currently working with that has two dogs, both over 60 pounds and both are considered to be "bully" breeds.  It takes time and patience, but there are condo's out there.  What I have done is ask about the restrictions first, before I ask anything else. It helps narrow down the list and saves a lot of time visiting places that won't work in the long run.

I have had sucess with smaller condo associations that will allow the new unit owner to have a higher condo fee to pay for the additional insurance required for the pet.

Best of luck, and if you need any help, feel free to let me know.

If the listing agents can't help you, try the ASPCAs, Humane Societies or calling a couple of vets or pet supply stores. They might know of something because of their clients. Craig's List or for sale by owners might be other avenues. One of your biggest problems is your price point, I ran a search for all of Boston and some surrounding towns. 20 condos listed for $80,000 and less came up; none take pets.
