Husband has a perfect credit score, but mine is horrible - can we buy a home?

My husbands credit score is in the 800's, but mine is in the 400-500 range - will we ever qualify for a home together? He has a good job and makes good money. His only debt is a student loan that he is almost done paying off. My financial situation is the opposite. I know I alone could never purchase a home, but how much am I hurting him on getting a house? Should he just buy one on his own and leave my info out of it? Is that even possible?

Catherine,

Your desire to buy a home is VERY possible.  I would love to meet with you and put you in contact with our inhouse lender.  As a matter of fact, it doesn't take long at all to find out how much you qualify for.  Do you give me your permission to put you in touch with our lender.  He will be able to tell you the best way to go in getting approved.  Whether it's you and your husband getting a loan together or him doing it on his own.  We also have a credit specialist that can help pull your credit score up.  Even if the loan is in his name only, the both of your will be on the deed.  I am here to answer all questions you have.  How can I further assist you?

Thank you for your response. We have just started getting serious about purchasing a home soon. We have a baby on the way and will need the extra space. Where do you suggest we start? You have permission to get us in touch with your lender.

Look forward to hearing back from you.
