Naperville vs. Plainfield

Hey there!  We are considering returning to the Midwest after a long stretch on the East Coast.  We are considering either Naperville or Plainfield.   We have a baby, so schools are definitely a consideration.  Any insight as to pros/cons for either community?

Re: Naperville vs. Plainfield

Yep, I looked at great schools at the beginning of my search...hoping to find a little more insight on the communities as a whole from folks who live there/ have gone through the same search. The taxes in Plainfield compared to Naperville have been surprising, wondering if there is any big industry headed for Plainfield anytime soon to help keep them at bay....

Re: Naperville vs. Plainfield

Hi I lived in Naperville for a few years.  It's a great town albeit expensive.  If you are looking in Naperville be sure to look within the 204 school district.  The schools are fantastic.  Other points for Naperville, low crime, easy access to the train into the city, good shopping blah blah blah.  One secret is that there is a corner of Aurora that is in the Naperville 204 school district.  It is indistingushable from Naperville across the street but the houses are a bit less expensive because they don't have the Naperville address.  Worth looking at if price is a concern but you still want the good schools.

i believe that planfield is considered tornado alley. the area allegedley is more prone to have tornados occur. have seen naperville listed as one of the best cities to live in the u.s.a. in several national lists.

Re: Naperville vs. Plainfield

Not Only does the DuPage portion of Aurora feature Naperville Schools, there is also one subdivision with gorgeous homes in Plainfield that attend Naperville Schools as well!!  Give me a call and I can share that info!  Ellen Rhodes/ZipRealty 630-639-7585!!
