If you need information on mostly any U.S. city, “City-data.com” is a comprehensive source of information, which includes demographics, geographics, crime data, registered sex offenders, cost of living, business profiles, hospitals, schools, housing, and the list goes on... City-data.com is the source of the source. More directly, for more specific information, call the Aurora Police Department non-emergency telephone number of (630) 256-5000.

Hi,
Thank you for your post! I am the local ZipRealtor and have made Aurora my home for the last 15yrs. My husband arrived here from England in the late 1960's...so he has been here awhile too! Aurora is the second largest City in Illinois, #1-being Chicago. There is a home for everyone here! Condo's can be found from $50,000, to luxury communities over $500,000. We also have several school districts to support the town. Great shopping, easy commuting, close proximity to the highways and trains. Please call anytime, I would love to introduce you to the town!!

They are a home rule town which is complicated & I am not really a fan of...It's true Aurora is the new Elgin....
Take a stroll to the police station or fire dept...they will tell you what kind of calls the respond to...
check out police blotter & if your children are in school check out if they have offer many AP classes. I find the the less available AP classes the over all lower demographic for raising a child...
Then again who know Orland Park & Lemont had a heroin problem in their high schools....

i have lived in the area my whole life. their are some areas of aurora that are nicer, towards naperville (east of eola road and south of ogden ave) but the schools are awful either way. you'd be better off in oswego or yorkville.

I have lived on the west side of Aurora for 15 years and I don't have a drug problem.I am not in a gang either.
