FHA or Conventional loan waitimg period after a foreclsure

On March 2010 I had a forclosure on a FHA loan. How long I have to wait to apply for a new loan? Either an FHA or convensional loan.

FHA is 3 years with re-established credit and Conventional is 4 years.  Closing sooner is possible if the foreclosure was due to extenuating circumstances -which in 2012 language means death of a primary wage earner.

Hi Santiago,

Waiting times will vary based on the individual.  However, it could be as little as 3 years.
