The Oaks is an older community but the quality of the homes in here has remained pretty good. There will be a very few homes that have been foreclosed on or in the process of foreclosure. For the most part the owners have maintained the homes pretty well.
There is a new section that has been open about 4 years with three builders actively building in this area. One of these new sections actually has canal front lots. The community has a boat lift that will transfer your boat from the canal into Shingle Creek. From there you can go to Lake Toho and ultimately you have access to both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic. There are reasonably priced homes in this section with canal access.
