Elk Grove is a great area. Great places to eat and shop. There are alot of great areas in elk grove, but it depends on how much you want to spend. If you have about 250+ I would choose to live in the Lakeside community by stonelake elementary, because I have lived there for over 13 years and love the area. The school is great the houses are nice and taken care of. We have an hoa that monitors that neighborhoods to make sure people are taking care of their houses. They also have a private patrol drive around at night. We also have numerous lakes over there and great parks. So that would be my suggestion. Good Luck in your search!!

I personally love Roseville, but have sold quite a few homes in the Elk Grove area recently and my clients love it. It really depends on your personal preference. Roseville has Sutter and Kaiser hospitals. Elk Grove also has hospitals and is building more now. Please feel free to email me any specific questions and let me know if you would like to look at properties in either area. You can reach me at smoody@ziprealty.com

It depends on your housing allowance and your age. Both have hospitals. Elk Grove has Sutter Clinics, Kaiser, and Methodist. Roseville has Sutter and, I believe, Kaiser. There is senior housing (one is 55 and up and another is 62 and up) for really nice prices near Cosumnes River Blvd. and Center Parkway. That is actually Sacramento 95823 but very close to two hospitals and the housing is very reasonable.
Elk Grove has 3 zip codes. 95757 is very new with nearly everything built after 1995. 95758 is mostly 1980 and newer. and 95624 is on the east side of Hwy. 99 and varies from the oldest sections of Elk Grove (still very nice) to brand new. Pricewise you'll probably pay the most for 95757. Because they buildt so much in the last 20 years there are MANY nice homes available for sale and you will get more home for your money in Elk Grove than in Roseville. But Roseville is a nice place to live. If I were to retire I would consider Folsom as well.

I own a house (which I'm trying to sell by the way 5bed/2 bath 1900sf) that is off of Elk Grove Blvd and Fire Poppy. We are surrounded by 3 parks, one of which is a water park, have both grade school and high schools within walking distance, the new hospital on EG Blvd is within walking distance (less than 2 miles) and have a Raleys, Nugget and Trader Joes all within a mile of our front door. 99 freeway and 5 freeway are both less than 3 miles depending on which route you need to take. Also within 2-3 miles are Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Target, multiple restaurants, grocery and retail stores.

We're looking at $240,000. It has been freshly painted inside, brand new hardwood floors, professionally landscaped, well maintained, we are the original owners.
