I no longer live and work in SF, but this is a decent area. Good choices for transportation, convenient to the peninnsula (Silicon Valley) and would be considered more of a family neighborhood.
Not too bad for walking, but also not like the more familiar areas of the city, i.e., Noe Valley, Castro, Haight Ashbury, etc. But, much lower priced also.
