We are planning on moving to Everett, Any areas we should be looking to purchase a home?

We are planning on moving to Everett, WA from CA in the next year or so.  We would like to purchase a home before we move.  Any advise on purchasing while still living in CA?  Also what area of Everett should we be looking in?

What is important to you in a home?  Do you want views of Mountain, Sound (our Bay), Valley, or City Lights?  Are schools important now?  Newer homes vs older homes?  Everett is a very diverse City and while it is smaller than Seattle, it is spread out quite a lot.  What price range are you wanting to stay within?  Thanks, Debra Hamilton

We have a toddler now so a good school zone is important.  We would like to be between the Mukilteo ferry terminal and the I-5.  We are looking ideally for a home in the 130,000 to 160,000 range and aren't really into a new home or an old home, just one that hit's us in the right way.

Thanks,

Tara

You'll want to look at zip codes 98203 & 98204.  The price range is a little low - even for Everett, but there are some properties in that price range.  Mukilteo School District is a very good school district but you'll also want to take a look at the individual schools to see how they compare.  You can go to www.greatschools.org and get the ratings of those schools.  You'll want to look at homes and townhouses.
